The Women's Initiative

Emergency essentials for women and children fleeing abuse, homelessness and poverty.

Why it matters

Women fleeing abusive environments often leave with nothing: no belongings, no money and no safety net. The Women’s Initiative provides emergency kits stocked with what they need to get through the first ten days.

Hidden homelessness affects women disproportionately and is severely under-reported. Many women head families seeking shelter, raise children in poverty, or experience hidden homelessness in their lifetime. These realities show the urgent need for stronger support for women and mothers alike.
